🕯 Psalm 12: Words That Do Not Fail
(retransmitted by Virgin Monk Boy after scrolling the endless feeds of spin and slogans)
1
Help, Beloved!
The faithful are disappearing.
The ones who tell the truth
are hard to find.
2
Everyone flatters,
everyone spins,
they talk from both sides of their mouth
and call it wisdom.
3
Cut off the smug lips, O Presence,
unmask the boastful tongue
that says,
“We control the narrative.
Our words are weapons.
Who can stop us?”
4
But You, Beloved,
hear the groans of the poor.
You rise up for the ones gasping,
the ones trampled by endless propaganda.
5
Your words are not polluted.
They are pure—
like silver refined,
tested seven times,
without the toxins of manipulation.
6
You, O Love,
will guard the forgotten.
You will keep them safe
when cruelty floods the streets.
7
Everywhere the vile strut,
everywhere the greedy boast,
but Your word
still breathes freedom,
still plants courage,
still refuses to die.
—Virgin Monk Boy
(who once thought all words were corrupt,
until one pierced his heart like light)
