Tithonomics

That indetifies the source of much grief in the world of organized religion and cults.

When you compell someone by pressure and shame to tithe, how can it be a gift freely given? Once that started with a group, I was out if there. If my work in a ministry was not sufficient, I doubt they cared about my soul.

This is so funny, & so is the picture at the top. I sure don’t want to get tangled up in Megachurch Management, even if Dr. FaithAnn Goldleaf throws a brunch party. Vets, beware of churches (& your own government!) that try to take advantage of you!👻

This reminds me of the scene in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation when Cousin Eddie says, "If only I had back the money that me and Catherine sent that TV preacher..."

You had me at the Eagle in the stained glass window…..followed by don’t you want to be in the Lord’s Army? I feel so stupid. Jesus had an army?

SMASH that AMEN button! And what a graduation - on Zoom, and all of them tossing their Bibles in the air (ouch, sacrilege - well, that’s the way the church I was baptized in would call it). Finally - Be all you can pray…..OMG for how many decades of my life did i hear that jingle, such a happy-jack melody. “Be all that you can be in the Army”. Always wondered what did they really mean, dead?

Even my dad who was in the Navy for 2 years, ROTC, so he could fund his college degree, would crack a smile at this. Especially since the Navy wasn’t specifically mentioned lol.

Ha! The Lord’s Army always needed better recruiters. They promised salvation but forgot to mention the uniforms were guilt and groupthink. Your dad had the right idea. Serve just long enough to fund an exit strategy.
