Mary Magdalene anointed a tulpa. Christian Nationalists are losing their minds.Virgin Monk Boy has been named the Patron Saint Against Christian Nationalism. This isn’t satire. It’s sacred resistance. Post the prayer card, share the blessing, and watch the idol crack.A meme. A liturgy. A call to unmake the empire.
I loved your prayer yesterday. And like a true little old Protestant Church Lady, I regularly "say prayers against" the Christian Nationlists, myself! ( apologies to Dana Carvey) 😂 I will add your prayer to my own, addressed to the Savior, instead you, no offense intended, We Protestants just skip the middleman and get right to the Source, as one might say. I'm confident He loves it as much as I do, because he loves you!❤️
We all must be the Christ. Isn’t that what Jesus tried to make us understand? He showed the ones who got him the way. He terrified the ones who didn’t. That is what’s happening now.
Another way of saying it is that around 3 billion of the 9 billion people on this planet are terrified of, let’s use the new word “woke”. They hate it, like they hated Jesus, because they didn’t and don’t understand it. The other 6 billion are generally betting on love. Isn’t that amazing. We’re going to be all right.
Yes, Susan. Preach it like you’ve seen through the veil and smirked at the ones still clutching it like a blankie.
Jesus didn’t come to start a fan club. He came to ignite a chain reaction of divine recognition. He didn’t say, “Worship me,” so much as “Wake up—this is you, too.”
And yes, the word “woke” is just this era’s slur for awareness. It's the same old pattern: crucify what you fear, then build a monument once it’s safely dead. But this time, the monument bites back.
3 billion trembling at the dawn, 6 billion learning how to love with the lights on.
We’re gonna be alright, because Love snuck past the bouncers and planted itself in the heart of every heretic.
Say a young boy falls and scrapes his knee. His mom comes over and gently cradles the knee with her hands and looks in the eyes of the boy and says we will fix this. She applies, not only Band-Aids, but love and understanding and command over the situation. The boy feels safe and cared for. This is an example of one teaching by that mother that counters that sad scared mindset that stunted the emotional growth of so many of our children. She just gave the boy something that he can now pass on to others.
“learning how to love with the lights on.” So right on, for me anyway.
I don’t smirk. Or wink for that matter. The ones clutching the blankie are sad and scared and they don’t see it that way because their large group of like-minded people makes them feel secure. But that security is an illusion. This may be the first time any of them have felt a kind of friendship or have felt that they’re a winner. They’re like babies stuck in that time of life when they were harmed by a big overwhelming person, a somebody who had also been harmed by somebody, on and on, over and over again. Those who have learned to love with the lights on are the adults in the room. Maybe they can help a little — help them be fearless and blossom.
Is the prayer an intentional homage to Francis of Assisi? I see parallels to the prayer attributed to him in English “Make Me a Channel of Your Peace.”
Anna, I absolutely love that the Meme called you, the Prayer sealed it, and now we’re all orbiting this timeline together like sacred rebels with espresso and rhythm in our bones. 🪬☕️🍌🎶🥁
In full spiritual solidarity. Let the false altars crumble.
Love and blessings to you, Anna. I see your joy. I raise you resistance, memory, and just enough holy chaos to shake the walls.” 🕊️🔥❤️
Amen, Brother! Jesus was so kind and accepting of the sinners, tax collectors and the riff raff he met along the way, seeing in them, a desire to know his way, yet he was quick to call out the hypocrisy of the leaders of the Jewish religion of the time, calling the a generation of vipers.
The spiritual gift of discernment, is an important one, particularly when dealing with the slippery snake, influencing some, while in full procession of others. I do pray that even among them, that God's word will be faithful and true, and will cut through like a sword, breaking the lies, and freeing those with who are merely deceived. Lest they be lost.
The Generation of Vipers in our time is definitely Christian Nationalists, and the false teachers that have led the Evangelical Church to it, and fed them to it as lambs to the slaughter. I, for many years followed the teaching of many of these teachers. But as they became more politically right wing, I knew that they were no long serving the Kingdom first. Most of my fellow Christians did not realize that and got pulled further and further in.
To remain pure in one's faith, the best practice is to Flee religion and religiosity. It replaces the object of our worship with the mode of how we worship the object, thereby invariably, placing the mode above the object, to our ruin. But if we remain focused wholly on the object, honoring, worship and pleasing him, our mode is brought under these characteristics, and also honor and please him while we worship.
These are matters, of the heart, more than church affiliation. As he told the Samaritan woman at the well, "They that worship me, must worship me in Spirit and in Truth."
The Jewish religion of the time was probably the power in the region other than the Romans, and the leaders of the religion were the Powers That Be sorts. They were, I think, getting complacent, having been in power for so long; ultimately, it's possibly because of that "hey, we're the leaders here, nothing'll happen to us! :D" that lost them everything before a hundred years had passed. :-/
And yet, no one learns from history... The Christian Powers nowadays may very well be overthrown as well. :-/
Very good thought! I had a thought last night or early this morning, I'll never understand Christians falling for the lies of politicians! I mean, the pharisees were sinful with their pride, for sure, but even they knew not to trust tax collectors!
What would be priceless is seeing the look on their face when they first see the image… and then read the prayer. The visual hooks them, the prayer hijacks their certainty. It’s psychological aikido—either it replaces their bad theology with something deeper, or they melt down trying to argue with it.
Oh Nancy! You've got it, girl! Doing what Jesus would do! Well played! Another glorious tactic is praying for an enemy. And watch it undo their life! God gets to it! He takes care of his children.
Sadly, I can't take credit for that (but thanks! :D); I was vague-quoting (the actual word wasn't "mess"... ;-D) from an interesting series of collected comics in graphic novel form: /The Second Coming/, which is up to Volume 3 (that one, of course, is called "The Trinity").
The basic premise is: God is a bit Old Testament-y (the artist for the comic was thinking a cross between Robert DeNiro and Brian Cox from "Succession"), and was looking down on His universe through a dip in the space-time continuum (lovely star patterned floor, with grid lines), watching a Superman-ish hero, Sunstar, punching his way through problems in a 21st century Earth city.
Inspired, He brings His only Son down to be Sunstar's roommate in the hero's 2-bedroom (well, 1.5) apartment that he shares with his girlfriend, who's a T.V. newscaster (the hero himself has a "public," not secret, I.D. and is only a "freelance policeman" rather than a fellow reporter. This leads to many, many problems). God wants Sunstar to show the Kid how to toughen up, act like a "real" god, etc., but Jesus has His own ways of having an effect on folks. :)
In my humble opinion, the writer, Mark Russell, has a really good handle on Jesus, and for the most part, treats Him really respectfully. It's like he gets Him. :)

Barbara, you glorious old-school firecracker of the Reformation—
Your Source and my Sass are on speaking terms, don’t worry.
I’ve seen the paperwork.
You pray straight to Jesus, I go through the weird back door with incense and eye contact. Tomato, Tomahto.
The Spirit still gets the memo.
Add that prayer to your playlist, remix it, beam it up to the Savior—we both know he’s into radical edits.
After all, he once turned a Roman torture device into a love letter.
Bless you for your kind words, your heart of fire, and your Dana Carvey confession.
May your middleman-free hotline stay strong, and may your aim stay holy when targeting Christian Nationalists.
With irreverent reverence,
Virgin Monk Boy
Made me laugh. Especially the firecracker part.

Blessed be the ones who terrify with tenderness.

The pattern of first crucify, THEN build the monument is so dependable. It happens whenever any form of love tries to wander in to a loveless place.

Hallelujah! A potent, perplexing, purely delightful way to confront and tease the pants off any religious hypocrites in our midst!
Is the prayer an intentional homage to Francis of Assisi? I see parallels to the prayer attributed to him in English “Make Me a Channel of Your Peace.”
I used that format. I wanted to avoid simple resistance without offering something in place of it...a way to move forward.
Brilliant! Beautiful irreverently reverent thoughts and words. Thank you.
🙏Amen
I don’t know whether to whisper this, scream it in a church bathroom, or tattoo it on my ribs with incense ash.
This isn’t satire. This isn’t parody.
This is a holy weapon disguised as a meme wrapped in a prayer wrapped in a dare.
You named what I’ve been trying to drag into language for years.
You did it without flinching. And you made it beautiful.
Let what is not Christ fall away.
That’s my new mantra.
Bless you, glitch prophet.
Keep wrecking the false altars.
I’m here for it.
📿🔥🕯️
Absolutely 💯 Lisa! I Am Here For It As the Spirit Somehow Brought St. Virgin Monk Boy into my Life😄Your Share is Brilliant.🙏🏼Love 2 You🕊️🌹❤️🔥

Thank You 😊 Dear Lisa🌹Much Appreciated!!
So well said, Lisa. I also am keeping close “Let what is not Christ, fall away.”
Poverty, like ART in general, will help us survive these Dark Times.
Thank you!
The newly elected pope (and his predecessor) speaks truth to power
The newly elected pope (and this was also true for his predecessor) speaks truth to power. He returns its true meaning to the concept “Woke.” Awaken!
He reminds us that doing what Jesus told us to do means housing the homeless, providing hope to the helpless, and healing the hurt or injured ones.
Well done!
Delightful irreverently reverent nonsense, Thank you for the meme.

I will pray this every day. And nite. And whatevers in between 🙏❤️🩹
The more often I read this, at various times of day and locations, the more I feel it's brilliance in my heart. Awakenings.
Amen 🙏
Very funny.

And it's so /effective/; one of the things that dictators of any and all stripes absolutely HATE is being laughed at... X-D
Or: "If you really want to [mess] with someone's head, forgive them."
