It will be a very long time before the rancid taste McConnellite corruption recedes from our collective consciousness. May that time be measured only in decades rather than centuries. I remain angry at the profound damage he did but I feel blessed by his absence.

I stubbornly remain a Christian

He had a choice and chose the one history will haunt him for. As Senator Adam Schiff said ‘your name will be tied to his for all of history’.

Your words are so perfect in describing the turtle in the mist truthful way ! I hope he reads them or his family does! He could have been a hero ! Fear of losing life or family or friends really does damage to the soul! A waste of his life!!

This sort of deathbed conversion he’s been having (suddenly voting against the orange moron) is ridiculously too little too late. When you sow the teeth of a dragon you shouldn’t be surprised when you get a dragon…

No deathbed conversion for the Turtle. Just sudden recognition that everything he traded for aiding and abetting the Orange Antichrist is crumbling: Kentucky bourbons will never be sold again in Canada, and his wife’s family’s Asian-to- US shipping business is now in the toilet — all because of Trump’s insane tariff wars. His internal rail and truck transport investments the same. His state will never get the US investments that Biden championed because of Doge cuts. And his portfolio investments have taken a massive hit from Trump’s manipulation of the stock market and bond funds.

As a boy he had polio during the Great Depression and benefited from the so-called socialist experiment known as the New Deal, and Christian charity programs that saved his life (his mother fought to get him accepted to the same charitable polio clinic that President FD Roosevelt had been treated at. ) He dedicated his political career to destroy everything that had helped him.

Now he reaps the evil whirlwind, living long enough to see the fruits of his labor turn our country right back into the great depression that he grew up in.

May he whither away towards an ignoble death.

Time passed McConnell by. Unfortunately, it did so decades ago but he only noticed it recently. By then, the damage had been done.

He was never a man of the people, not even of Kentucky. He was a festering, putrid corpse that represented nothing but the worst of politics. He has only earned one thing: ignominy.

My maiden name is McConnell and I shudder to think I could be related somehow. But then in a non-dual world, I guess we're all related. Still, I sure wish he'd retired a long time ago. I love your description of him guarding the crypt. He really epitomized obstruction in lieu of governance.

Jane, you are hereby absolved of all ancestral guilt by virtue of wit and wisdom. Even if Mitch is a distant cousin twice removed and spiritually exiled, you clearly took a divergent evolutionary path—into consciousness.

And yes, in the non-dual realm, we're all cosmic cousins swimming in the same primordial soup… some of us just chose to congeal into obstructionist fossils guarding the Senate like it’s Tutankhamun’s tomb.

Thank you for holding the torch of governance while your crypt-kin holds the door shut.

Everything written here is the truth. I sent him an email that kind of said the same, although not nearly as eloquently as this article.

Who’s mess is it to clean up? Maybe we’re all the spirit of an untrained pup. Scrub the trouble on the double. Yet what if the culpability is disconnected from a source? It’s like the manipulation is held in place by an invisible force. The grand poo bah hahaha. Only it’s not funny now that it’s all too son-kneed. Maybe all that light spoiled the honey? Now everyone knows the heist was always about deception and money. The emperor’s lack of clothes. We can see his buns and squirt gunny. But it’s hard to deceive when we’ve picked through the past and grieved all the promises that just didn’t last. We’re leaving the scene of the crime and it’s just about time to clean up the slime. Polish the mirror to a vibrant shine. Breathe in out. We still have time. We’ve got to see the whole picture and learn how to lean. Just call on me when you need a friend and we’ll give this shit a good clean. All of us living our own best dreams. Coming together to make it. No longer rivals of survival. Mending the seams. We’re all on the same team.
