I stood still when I read this part of his writing. It’s always been one of my favourite lines from the Quran. And it’s just one line, but such huge impact.
Whether you make me laugh, make me think, share a thought or simply riff, I always feel your love underneath it all. Thank you for being here. You are a gift.💜
Beautiful pointing towards yearning as a part of our humanity . To stay with the yearning instead of reaching for a fix or an addiction might be the answer to many of the worlds problems! Thank you for normalizing this instead of thinking something is missing.
Beautiful. Thank you. Reminds me of Augustine's idea of love as a kind of cosmic force, affecting and directing all of creation to its proper place--even inanimate objects. In this passage from The City of God (XI.28), he describes physical forces as a kind of love: "For the weight of bodies is, as it were, their love, whether they are carried downwards by gravity or upwards by their lightness. For the body is carried by its weight wherever it is carried, just as the soul is carried by its love." For Augustine, all of creation is shot through with longing, yearning, or love, including that most profound (for us) love between humans and God. I imagine he might say, "It's love all the way down."
Beautiful, yes, thank you! This reminds me in some ways of what Adyashanti pointed to when we feel the longing of alone-ness as all-one. The poetry of your words is something I look forward to with every post (and the smiles and humor that comes with them. "May the heart stop mistaking its depth for damage. May the longing we keep trying to cure become the doorway we finally learn to enter."
I love this....God, as a treasure to be found. This is beautiful and true.

Very wise. I recognize what you say from within.
