The wisdom the Church tried to erase is the same wisdom unraveling its collapse. Sophia is back, not through cathedrals but through voices the institution can’t silence.
Amen! Speaking as a heretic who opened a Substack, I think you are spot on. I think the only reason I stayed with my Christianity was the fact thay Jesus did not treat women like chattel.
If you think about it, it is amazing that the Bible preserved that teaching at all. So I never understood (eventhough they tried to explain it) why the church was so against women when that did not come from Jesus. Or why the Spirit came from above and not within as more Old Testament references read.
I rejoice that the wellspring of Sophia is moving so strongly. Truth is truth. Love is love. May Sophia's wisdom help us now. We so need it.
Love your grasp on history, especially Church history. I have to wonder where you ever learned it. The Church never taught anything it didn’t want people to know. Meanwhile, I am so much better understanding the rebellion of my heart and spirit, from a very early age.
The Church didn’t teach the missing pieces because it knew what would happen if people found the women, the mystics, the rebels, the ones who prayed outside the lines. Institutions hide whatever might loosen their grip. Souls don’t.
Your early rebellion wasn’t a flaw. It was recognition. Something in you remembered a story the hierarchy tried to bury. And when memory stirs, no gate built by men can hold it.
Thank you for this powerful piece. 🙏 I have always trusted my own inner knowing and the divine revelations I receive, but unless they are accompanied by the image of one of the wisdom keepers, I have never named that voice. In my books, I called it Holy Spirit only because that’s what I was told to call it. If you have the time, I would love to understand the difference between Holy Spirit and Sophia. 😇
