What do Rumi and Jesus have in common—and why does the church keep missing the point? This irreverent, fiery Substack post dives into how mystics across traditions preach the same awakening, while institutions keep bottling it up. Come for the jokes, stay for the Presence.
Sales, too....sad they're trying to make a fast buck (or whatever) off of human need to believe in, to find, something. Even science backs it up; something like 95+% of people have certain regions of their brain flair up when they're asked questions about belief, even if they're atheists (who often believe in either the potential of Humanity, or that Science is the right thing to "believe" in, or whatever).
Would a truly, newly awakened mystic light up everything (and maybe blow out the sensors)? Interesting thought! :)
Hmm! It was either in /The Empire Strikes Back/ movie or the novelization of the same, where Yoda pokes Luke and tells him, almost scolds him: "Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter."
I think it was in a scene where Luke was losing faith in his own abilities...
It’s only easier to let church do it because people are trapped in the capitalist slavery system and everyone lives in fear of death- from starvation, from violence. Just trying to wake people spiritually isn’t enough. We have to fix the broken systems that caused people to become lost in the first place. IMO and I am definitely no one of import, thank goodness.
But what about, "The poor you will always have with you."? :-/
You might be able to make an argument that civilization itself as a concept started the disparity system, anywhere it arose, either as a result of it or on the way to forming it. :-/ We don't really get organized, institutionalized religion or even coins (= the result of a complex economic system) without it.
Sadly, there's too many of us now and not enough resources to collectively give up on civilization, but it could definitely be improved upon. :-/
This one is a tsunami.
I love that at the end - God selling. That quite literally sums up evangelist tactics, it’s a sails pitch to gain your obedience😂😂

BAM 🔥🔥🔥 ‼️
🔥It’s starting to feel real toasty in here!🔥
That bout covers it 👁️
“Wake up, beloved. This isn’t all there is. You are not who you think you are.”

I love the joke at the beginning. This might be my favorite of your posts yet. It has MM all over it, even though it’s not expressly about her. 💖🕊️
I love Rumi.
